IMACakeCouture is a family business providing on-demand french iconic pastries, custom cakes, modern tarts, petit-fours, macaroon tower and catering services for pick-up in Santa Rosa or delivery throughout Sonoma county.
I am Isabelle MAZEAUD, a passionate chef trained in France at Ecole Nationale Supérieure de la Pâtisserie in Yssingeaux, France, the leading pastry school from renowned French Chef Alain Ducasse. I started in the Paris area, then worked at Craftsman and Wolves, a contemporary patisserie in San Francisco, and at the acclaimed Bouchon Bakery in Yountville.
I am a former formulation chemist who developed products for the food industry for more than 15 years. I trully fell in love with the meticulous and beautiful art of pastry and decided to follow my passion. Ask me about what is happening behind the recipe. I can tell you how ingredients interact with each other to create amazing textures and explosive flavors. I create custom sophisticated pastries and celebration cakes specifically tailored to your special event.
Why “IMA” ?
I get asked often how did we came up with “IMACakeCouture“…. when working as a chemist, people used to call me by my initials, IMA. I also liked how you could play with these three letters and just say “I’m a”.
Why “CakeCouture” ?
Cake Couture came from the comparison that is often made between haute patisserie and haute couture with two yearly handcrafted collections beautifully executed in limited quantity, work on colors and textures.
